Liquidity Facility

a lending facility provided by a financial institution which can be drawn upon to cover a shortfall in the amount payable under a securitisation resulting from liquidity issues rather than credit defaults. One should distinguish two broad types of liquidity facilities in securitisations that operate somewhat differently and are used for different purposes ABCP liquidity facilities and term liquidity facilities.
